Android engineer working in Kotlin and Jetpack Compose. I spend most of my time on the unglamorous half of software — reliability, performance, and what happens when the network drops or the database slows down.
I'm a Computer Science graduate from Cairo University, currently working as a software engineer on a large-scale government data platform, where I spend my days deep in Oracle — stored procedures, triggers, and a database serving around 20 million records. Most of what I've learned about writing reliable software came from production incidents there: a query that was too slow, a server that kept crashing, sessions that never got closed.
Before that, I co-founded Sanad, an e-learning startup, where I built three Android apps from the ground up as the sole mobile engineer — architecture, features, releases, all of it. I also spent two years teaching programming to K–12 students at iSchool, which turned out to be good practice for explaining technical decisions clearly, a skill that transfers directly to code review and design docs.
Right now I'm expanding into Flutter, with hands-on exposure to the BLoC/Cubit pattern, and I use AI coding tools daily as a default part of how I work — while staying accountable for everything that ships under my name.
